# MAKR Token and Tokenomics

MAKR is a native Polygon token. CoMakr chose the Polygon network because we believe it yields the best value in terms of transaction costs and speed. CoMakr being built upon the Polygon blockchain will benefit all users of the CoMakr ecosystem. MAKR is the token of the CoMakr ecosystem, which will empower users to use the plethora of features within the CoMakr 

Ecosystem. Makr has multiple uses:

* Platform fees 
* Staking 
* Storefront discounts 
* Co-Learn discounts 
* Governance
